Arbitrage, stockpiling boost China's December copper imports

China's copper imports increased sharply in December on arbitrage and stockpiling, according to preliminary customs data.
Imports of 369,368 tonnes of unwrought copper and copper-fabricated products rose 27 percent from November and were 28 percent higher than in December 2008, putting full-year imports at 4.29 million tonnes, up 63 percent from 2008.....
