Expansions at Ky. smelter, recycler set to add 50 jobs

Two recycling initiatives are under way in Kentucky that will result in the creation of a new nonferrous recycling facility and the addition of a third aluminum smelter, creating more than 50 new jobs in the Bowling Green area.

Secondary aluminum smelter Owl's Head Alloys Inc. plans to install another smelting furnace at its South Central Industrial Park facility. The company will also add an additional 12,000 square feet to its existing 48,000-square-foot facility to house the smelter. The $3-million capital investment will....
