A congresswoman is calling for Illinois locks connected to the Great Lakes to remain open despite the threat from Asian carp.
Days before the U.S. Army Corps of Engineers is expected to make its recommendations for new measures to prevent Asian carp from entering Lake Michigan, Rep. Debbie Halvorson (D., Ill.) held a press conference to publicize a petition calling for the Army Corps to protect local jobs and businesses by rejecting calls from Michigan and other states....
