Whirlpool raises ‘10 outlook as earnings, sales rise in qtr.

Whirlpool Corp.'s first-quarter net income more than doubled to $164 million on sales that rose 19.7 percent to $4.27 billion, leading the company to increase its full-year earnings outlook.
The quarterly results benefited from cost reduction and productivity initiatives, increased sales volume and favorable foreign currency effects, it said.....
