Hopes for Chinese silicon metal tax cut dashed

China's silicon metal exports remained sluggish after hopes for an export tax cut fell through.
As part of a slew of export tax changes to prop up the economy, the Chinese central government increased the tax rebate on exports of organic silicon and polycrystalline silicon to 13 percent on April 1. However, the silicon metal export tax has been held at 15 percent.....
