2M tons of aluminum output restarts in China

As much as 2 million tonnes of annual primary aluminum capacity has been restarted in recent months in China, a Cofco Futures Brokerage Co. executive estimated.
"According to our investigation, a lot of smelters have restarted idle capacity in recent months (totaling) 1.6 million to 2 million tonnes per year," Yang Yinghui, vice manager of Cofco's industrial commodity department, said at the 2009 China Aluminium Industry Chain Summit in Beijing.....
