Online minor metals price discovery system proposed
Sep 11, 2009 | 12:47 PM
The Minor Metals Trade Association (MMTA) is considering launching an online price discovery system alongside the London Metal Exchange using anonymous bid and offer prices for 12 minor metals.
The aim of the system would be "to provide effective, representative pricing by collating bids and offers of metal prices to create a weekly quotation set by market participants," the MMTA said.
The metals identified as suitable for the new system are antimony, bismuth, cadmium, chromium, indium, magnesium, manganese, selenium, silicon, titanium, tungsten and vanadium. The list will be refined for specific grades if the MMTA membership votes to continue discussions.....
