CN Railway mitigation deal with Ill. town marks its 19th

Canadian National Railway Co. (CN Railway) has signed an agreement with a town outside Chicago to address environmental concerns related to its acquisition of the former Elgin, Joliet & Eastern Railway Co. (EJ&E).
CN Railway has been operating freight trains over the line since it completed the $300-million acquisition of the 198-mile railroad from U.S. Steel Corp. last January but faced opposition from towns and residents along the railroad due to worries....
