Letter to the Editor: Anti-dumping trade action will not help Nucor Fastener

To the Editor:
A letter from Nucor Fastener's Tom Miller (AMM, Oct. 20) refuted our statements filed as part of their trade case seeking anti-dumping action against China.
American Fasteners Corp. had revenue of more than $11 million last year. Let's say we directly imported products valued at $3 million from overseas and bought another $4 million from importers here. That's $7 million in sales that Nucor has not actively pursued in more than 15 years. Business must be incredibly good. Before filing the trade case, maybe a change in sales tactics could have proved more successful. If what they want is just a bigger piece of the fastener pie, then they should work on....
