Aluminum scrap softens but ingot remains steady

Smelter-grade aluminum scrap is starting to soften, although market participants differ on whether the bearishness has led yet to widespread price changes.

"For the first time since April we had all of our production covered by the last week" before the delivery month, one consumer said. "Normally, we're still scrambling the first week, still....
