Is nothing sacred? Cal Ripken's No. 8 sculpture outside the Baltimore Orioles' ballpark at Camden Yard was stolen in September—for the aluminum content.
Baltimore police said that four young men, after a night of heavy drinking, ripped the 3½-foot Figure 8 sculpture out of the ground outside the downtown stadium, tossed it into the back of a pickup truck and drove it around town. They were arrested shortly thereafter after getting into an argument in Patterson Park, another section of the city. ....
