Recycler B&B Metals sues equipment maker Steinert

Scrap recycler B&B Metals Processing Co. Inc. is suing an equipment supplier for allegedly failing to deliver equipment in time for B&B to reap a tax benefit.
The Newton, Wis.-based recycler filed the lawsuit against Steinert US LLC of Clearwater, Fla., in Milwaukee County Circuit Court.
Steinert in July 2008 offered to sell B&B a sensor and compressor systems package for $545,000, which was to be delivered by year-end. The delivery date was vital because the recycler wanted to take advantage of "significant income tax benefits, which would effectively reduce B&B's costs for these systems," it said in the court documents.....
