ISRI’s RIOS scrapyard audit system gets nod to go live

The scrap industry's Recycling Industry Operating Standard (RIOS), an auditable set of norms that can show customers that a yard is carefully managed, passed its final hurdle when SGS SA was approved to do inspections.
The first recycler to get the laurel is Ocala Recycling LLC, Ocala, Fla., which was a participant in the spadework for creating RIOS. Conforming to RIOS requires having company routines to spot lapses regarding quality, pollution, health and safety.....
