Great Lakes coal shipments reach ’09 high

Coal shipments on the Great Lakes marked their strongest month of the year in October, topping this year's previous peak by about 2.8 percent.
October coal shipments totaled 3.7 million tons, up 35.8 percent from a month-earlier tally of nearly 2.8 million tons. Shipments previously peaked at 3.6 million tons in May.....
