Upstate Shredding set to buy Syracuse processor Matlow

Upstate Shredding LLC will acquire ferrous and nonferrous scrap processor Matlow & Co., according to Adam Weitsman, Upstate's president.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Syracuse, N.Y.-based Matlow has been a fixture in the scrap metal industry in central New York state for more than 90 years and employs about 30 workers. It is now operated by Peter Matlow.
In addition to buying Matlow, Owego, N.Y.-based Upstate Shredding is also opening a new feeder yard in Scranton, Pa., as part of its efforts to widen its footprint in the northern Pennsylvania and New Jersey scrap markets.....
