Ontario eyeing 2010 export growth, metals seen mixed

Ontario's exports are expected grow 8 percent in 2010 after registering four years of declines, although metals sector trade will be mixed.
Metals and ores, the prominent sub-sector in Ontario's industrial goods picture, will differ significantly by product, Export Development Canada (EDC), Ottawa, said in a provincial export outlook.
Production cuts at Vale Inco Ltd.'s Sudbury operation this year will have a material impact on exports of nickel and byproducts, EDC said. However, the declines will be offset by much higher prices and output at provincial gold mines.....
