Ferrochrome prices remain level, but conditions mixed

The U.S. ferrochrome spot market remains in a narrow but stable range as U.S. prices are buoyed by high South African power costs and a strong rand despite dull North American stainless and specialty steel demand.
"There's been a small increase in business, a few 100 tonnes here and a few 100 tonnes there," a U.S.-based ferroalloys trader said. "We're booking on either side of 90 cents (for high-carbon ferrochrome). Overall it's pretty stable."....
