China drags down aluminum scrap exports

U.S. exports of aluminum scrap sagged in September to the lowest level since March, with lower purchases by China only partly offset by larger shipments to South Korea, Taiwan, Mexico and India.

Shipment value, which briefly breached $200 million in August, was back down to $179 million in September as shipments fell to 144,528 short tons, off 11.5 percent from the previous month and down 12.7 percent from a year earlier.....
