Fabricated metals main user of steel, aluminum shipped by service centers

Fabricated metal products were the leading end-use of both steel and aluminum shipped by metal distributors in the United States and Canada last year.
But beyond that the rankings of end-use markets differ markedly, the Metals Service Center Institute (MSCI) reported in its annual survey of the major end-use markets for North American steel and aluminum shipments.
Metals service centers shipped 53.47 million tons of steel and 1.85 million tons of aluminum to customers in 2008. Fabricated metal products manufacturers represented nearly 23.5 percent of total steel shipments in North America for the year, and 29.6 percent of all aluminum products shipped.....
