Primary metal shipments, new orders up in October

Primary metal shipments and new orders each increased 3.6 percent in October from September, the U.S. Census Bureau said, while inventories remained flat and unfilled orders (backlog) increased 1.4 percent.
Primary metal shipments in October topped $14.3 billion, seasonally adjusted, up from September's $13.8 billion, but October's shipments fell 26.3 percent (not seasonally adjusted) from October 2008.....
