First Quantum Minerals gives 'go' to Finnish nickel project

First Quantum Minerals Ltd. said its board of directors has approved the development of the $400-million Kevitsa nickel-copper-platinum group element project in northern Finland.
The Vancouver, British Columbia-based company hopes to process 5 million tonnes of ore per year, with production due to start in 2012. The site has enhanced mineral reserves of 107 million tonnes grading 0.296 percent nickel, 0.272 percent nickel in sulfide form and 0.418 percent copper, First....
