Ontario town looks to oust Zalev Bros.

City officials in Windsor, Ontario, are weighing plans to run the Zalev Brothers Co. scrapyard out of their town.

The city council has hired an attorney, said to be skilled at complicated property deals and land expropriations, to investigate what it would take to rid Windsor of the scrapyard in the heart of the city, according to a published report.

The 50-acre Zalev site, now owned and operated by Detroit-based Ferrous Processing & Trading Co. (FPT) has long been a source of pollution complaints to city hall years before it was taken over by FPT.....
