Horsehead pays $34M for hazardous waste recycler

Horsehead Holding Corp. intends to expand its hazardous waste management and high-temperature metals recovery portfolio with the purchase of International Metals Reclamation Co. Inc. (Inmetco), a wholly owned subsidiary of Brazil's Vale.
Inmetco, Ellwood City, Pa., operates the only secondary smelter in North America dedicated to recycling nickel, chromium and other metals generated mainly by the stainless steel industry. It also operates a nickel-cadmium battery and nickel-metal hydride battery recycling program.....
