North American Palladium to restart mine

After 14 months on care and maintenance, North American Palladium Ltd.'s Lac des Iles Mine in Ontario will resume production, with the first concentrate slated to be shipped in the second quarter of 2010.
"We are very encouraged by the steady rise in the price of palladium. With palladium approaching $400 an ounce, we believe it is the right time to resume operations at Lac des Iles," William Biggar, the Toronto-based company's president and chief executive officer, said in a statement Tuesday. Palladium for March delivery settled at $365.55 an ounce Wednesday on the Comex....
