Supply crimp lifts smelters’ aluminum scrap tags 2cents/lb.

Smelter-grade aluminum scrap moved 2 cents per pound higher in the past week as supply remained tight.
The scrap price gains put sheet and cast in a range of 59 to 60 cents per pound Wednesday and mixed low-copper clips at 62 to 63 cents.
Buyers of smelter-grade alloys have chosen to stay active until close to the holidays, keeping throughput steady.
"We have not seen a seasonal slowdown. But early 2010 is still a big question mark," the scrap buyer for one smelter said.....
