Alcoa denies reaching Italian power deal

Alcoa Inc. and the Italian government have not come to a deal on energy supplies, a company spokesman said, despite a report that an agreement has been reached.
"Nothing was decided. There were discussions that took place and proposals put forth and we're appreciative of all the work that they've done, but there is some concern that some of the tools and proposals that they've put forth may not be effective," a spokesman for the Pittsburgh-based aluminum producer said late Thursday.....
