Silicomanganese tags under pressure

U.S. spot silicomanganese prices have fallen below 60 cents per pound as a major trader acting on behalf of a top U.S. producer drives down prices in what market sources said is an attempt to gain market share.
Market participants said that one major trading group, the exclusive agent for a large U.S.-based silicomanganese producer, has been offering material at 58 to 60 cents per pound, well below the range of 65 to 68 cents per pound seen as recently as Dec. 3. ....
