Some major ferrosilicon buyers late in booking for 2010

The U.S. ferrosilicon market has firmed on tighter supply, but this week will be critical as several major consumers are only now looking to wrap up their 2010 needs, traders and producers said.
Unlike silicon metal, where most of the 2010 business was concluded a couple of weeks ago, ferrosilicon buyers have been late in coming to the market.
"With ferrosilicon, people only want to deal with the guys who have it in stock, so consumers have waited late on purpose," a source at a major ferrosilicon and silicon metal producer said. "People just now are coming out so there should be a lot of business conducted this week."....
