Texas towing firm faces slew of accusations

A Dallas towing company has violated 19 state regulations and has 2,000 vehicles it cannot account for, according to the Texas Department of Licensing and Regulation (TDLR).
Dowdy Ferry Auto Services Inc. also is accused of crushing unclaimed vehicles instead of sending them to an auction house.
An investigation began after a large number of missing vehicles were not recovered, raising concerns that vehicles were being towed, stripped of parts and then crushed, according to a TDLR report. ....
