AISI, Nucor's DiMicco call for jobs, infrastructure investment

The steel industry continues to stress the need for job creation and investment in infrastructure in order to revitalize the economy.

The American Iron and Steel Institute (AISI), Washington, has repeated its call for infrastructure funding to be included in Congressional jobs legislation. In a letter to speaker of the house Rep. Nancy Pelosi (D., Calif.) on Wednesday, Thomas J. Gibson, AISI's president and chief executive officer, requested that Congress include "substantial infrastructure funding" in pending jobs legislation, and specifically set aside funding to replace or repair bridges deemed structurally deficient or functionally obsolete.....
