West Coast steel mills set flat-rolled price hikes for Feb.

A new round of price increases on flat-rolled carbon steel has been launched on the West Coast, but the region's two mills are skipping January and going straight to February amid buyer expectations of higher tags at least through the first quarter.
USS-Posco Industries (UPI), Pittsburg, Calif., has told customers that it will increase base prices on cold-rolled sheet by $40 per ton and on galvanized sheet by $50 per ton effective with new orders for shipment starting Feb. 1.
California Steel Industries Inc. (CSI), Fontana, Calif., hasn't formally announced a new across-the-board set of prices to the trade, but instead is notifying individual customers of February price hikes ranging from $20 to $30 per ton on hot-rolled coil and $40 to $50 per ton or more for galvanized, according to marketplace sources.....
