US shredded scrap exports dive 38.4% in Oct.

U.S. exports of shredded scrap tumbled 38.4 percent in October as China, South Korea, Turkey and several smaller nations pulled back from the market at the same time that U.S. supplies of the fragmented scrap tightened.

Shipments sank to 466,708 tonnes from 758,113 tonnes in September, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department, the lowest one-month total since January, when 394,362 tonnes were sent abroad.....
