Manganese volumes rising but prices are still softening

Manganese alloys continue to trend downward despite increased buying driven by the lower prices, traders said.
Spot prices for high-carbon ferromanganese range from $1,320 to $1,350 per tonne, down from $1,330 to $1,370 previously. Medium-carbon ferromanganese prices remain unchanged at $1.02 to $1.08 per pound.
Since the end of October, high-carbon ferromanganese prices have lost $160 per tonne, or 10.6 percent. ....
