WTO panel to probe China raw material export curbs

The World Trade Organization (WTO) is moving ahead to formally initiate a major trade case involving China's alleged price manipulation and export quotas on nine key raw materials used in the production of industrial products, including steel and aluminum.

The WTO has approved establishment of a dispute settlement panel requested by the United States, European Union and Mexico, which have charged that China favors its domestic producers by setting export quotas on such products as coke, bauxite, zinc, magnesium, silicon metal, fluorspar and other key industrial ingredients.....
