FNX forecasts 31% output gain in 2010

Canadian junior miner FNX Mining Co. Inc. expects to increase production by almost one-third in the New Year, focusing efforts on bolstered copper and precious metal recoveries while continuing to suspend activity at its nickel-dominant ore deposits.

Production is forecast to rise 31 percent year on year in 2010 to 891,000 tons of ore shipped. This includes 48.1 million pounds of copper (up 36.6 percent year on year) and 74,500 ounces of platinum, palladium and gold (up 28.4 percent), the Toronto-based company said.....
