Tonawanda Coke manager faces environment charges

The manager of environmental control at Tonawanda Coke Corp. is facing three federal charges of knowingly violating the Resource Conservation and Recovery Act and the Clean Air Act.
The charges followed a raid on the facility in Tonawanda, N.Y., by officials from the U.S. Environmental Protection Agency, the Coast Guard and the New York State Department of Environmental Conservation (AMM, Dec. 22).
Operations at the site are ongoing. "Production will not be impacted. We plan to keep going. That is the plan," an employee at Tonawanda Coke, which serves the foundry industry, told AMM.....
