Ten crude indium smelters in Hunan ordered to close

Environmental concerns have led Chinese authorities to shut 10 crude indium smelters with a combined monthly output of 500 to 700 kilograms in Hunan province, market sources said.
The Hunan provincial environmental protection authority ordered the shutdowns in mid- or late July, without specifying when the producers might be allowed to resume output, an executive from one of the shuttered smelters, Hunan Xiangtan Xinyu Chemical Industries Co. Ltd., confirmed.....
