Alaska Gov. Palin under fire for gifts from miners reports

Alaska Gov. Sarah Palin failed to say "thanks, but no thanks" to thousands of dollars of personal gifts from the state's mining industry and also doled out a series of major favors to the industry, according to published reports.
The vice presidential nominee is coming under heavy fire on a variety of fronts, including her role in shifting public opinion on a controversial ballot initiative involving the long-term development of the massive Pebble Mine gold and copper deposit at Bristol Bay, site of the state's premier salmon fisheries.....
