Hayes Iron grows reach via Sturgeon buy

Hayes Iron & Metal Inc. has acquired Sturgeon & Sons Recycling LLC, a small nonferrous scrap processor in Elizabeth City, N.C.
The financial terms of the acquisition were not disclosed.
Charles Wright, vice president of Hayes, said the purchase of Sturgeon was an opportunity for the Providence, N.C.-based scrap processor to broaden its footprint in the northeast region of the state and southeastern Virginia. Elizabeth....
