EPA endorses standards for electronics recycling

A set of standards for electronics recycling has been issued by a stakeholder panel and endorsed by the federal Environmental Protection Agency (EPA).

The Institute of Scrap Recycling Industries (ISRI), which helped write the guidelines, welcomed the standards. But the Electronics TakeBack Coalition and the Basel Action Network were less than happy, saying the Responsible Recycling ("R2") Practices leave loopholes for exporting toxic materials to developing countries.....
