Lead scrap exports slip 1.7% on Asian retreat

U.S. exports of lead scrap inched downward in August despite a rise in the tonnage shipped to Canada and the United Kingdom.

Deliveries of the heavy metal scrap totaled 14,651 short tons, down 1.7 percent from 14,900 tons in July, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department. Despite the slight decline, August's exports were still well ahead of the pace seen earlier in the summer, when monthly shipments....
