Con-way Freight to shut 40 centers, trim jobs about 1%

Con-way Freight Inc., a less-than-truckload (LTL) carrier based in Ann Arbor, Mich., plans to close 40 service centers across the United States.
The freight from closing locations will be redistributed and balanced among more than 100 nearby service centers, with the company continuing to provide service to all markets, according to John G. Labrie, the company's president.....
