China buys lift zinc exports in August

Asian demand for zinc scrap was mixed in August, with China's take of the galvanizing scrap rising 18.5 percent during the month, while other users in the region trimmed their buys.

Exports of zinc scrap and waste, including skimmings, rose to 12,642 short tons in August, according to the latest figures from the U.S. Commerce Department. That total is 25 tons short of the monthly record of 12,677 tons, recorded in December 2006, but still exceeds....
