EMR downs sites in UK as it battles demand, price sag

European Metal Recycling Ltd. (EMR), Warrington, England, has reportedly closed or suspended some of its U.K. operations as it attempts to adapt to falling demand and plummeting prices.
There were no reports of any of the British scrap processor's U.S. operations being shuttered, although a source at one facility said that scrap processing there has been slow because of the decline in obsolete scrap flows and weaker demand from domestic steel mills.....
