Supreme Court to hear Harman appeal

The U.S. Supreme Court will hear an appeal from Harman Mining Corp. and decide whether a West Virginia state Supreme Court justice should have dismissed himself from hearing the case against Massey Energy Co., Richmond, Va.
In April this year, the West Virginia Supreme Court reversed a 2002 circuit court ruling to award $50 million to Harman and its president, Hugh Caperton. Harman claimed it went into bankruptcy in 1998 after Massey fraudulently took over a coal supply contract to the former LTV Steel Co. mills in Pittsburgh.....
