Qatalum smelter on trage for late '09 start

Norsk Hydro ASA, Oslo, Norway, is still on track to start production at its Qatar Aluminium Ltd. (Qatalum) project at the end of 2009 despite the current challenging economic environment, John Ottestad, the company's chief financial officer, said Monday.
The primary aluminum smelter in Mesaieed, Qatar, is expected to have an initial output of 585,000 tonnes annually and was about 41 percent complete at the end of the third quarter.....
