Aleris to idle N. Carolina coil coating line, lay off 45

Aleris International Inc. is idling a coil coating line in Roxboro, N.C., next week, laying off 45 employees and reducing potential output by about 25 million pounds annually.
The Roxboro facility supplies coated aluminum coil for building and construction, transportation, distribution and consumer durables applications.
An Aleris spokesman said that the inactive coil coating equipment will be retained, and the plant could be reopened once "market conditions improve."....
