Ferrous quiet as traders wait for Turkey

Demand for ferrous scrap from key markets such as Turkey has retreated in the past two weeks, with market participants expecting mills to stay out of the market until mid-December or early January.

"The past two weeks have been very quiet and we haven't seen any new sales. The Turkish mills are focused again on selling their products, but it is not very easy," according to one Turkish scrap trader. "Everybody is now waiting for the next round of purchases from Turkey, which could happen in the middle of December for January shipments.....
