Military scrap prices follow market down

Mixed steel scrap from an Army facility in Texas was valued at $86.40 per long ton in a military auction Tuesday, down 53 percent from the previous contract.
The three-month deal attracted a winning bid of $105,200, although the price will be adjusted monthly using AMM data.
Before metal prices collapsed, the heavy and light steel from Red River Army Depot was valued at $183.98 per ton, with no price adjustment, under a one-year auction in August 2007. ....
