Home foreclosures could boost theft of copper FBI

Assessing copper as plunder for criminals, the Federal Bureau of Investigation has pointed to home foreclosures as targets of theft rings.

The report, titled "Copper Theft Threatens U.S. Infrastructure," resulted from a survey of nearly 150 people that ended in May.

The midyear cutoff occurred during a period of economic transition, which is evident in the report.....
